Olivia's Backstroke

Watching Olivia do backstroke at swimming lessons makes the pain of evening swimming lessons so worth it!

Winter Park Thanksgiving

We arrived in Winter Park about 9 a.m. on Wednesday so we had two hours to kill before checking into the house. First we stopped for breakfast and then went to the Fraser Library. Wednesday was arrival day for everyone so we just hung out until the Coursey's showed up.  They are friends we met while living in Texas.

Thanksgiving Day:  We started out our day with tubing on the Coca-Cola hills.  The snow was very icy so the hill was very fast.  Olivia was terrified the first run, but I talked her into trying it one more time and she started loving it.  Ike loved it right away and was going down by himself and doing his own thing.

Via and I would go down roped together.

This is a nice and easy way to get back to the top of the hill.

Charles was the cook for the day.  He stepped out for a little break after we got back from tubing.

Claire, Trey, Via and Darren waiting to eat.  Poor Trey started feeling pretty sick Thanksgiving morning and by Friday ended up at urgent care with Pneumonia.

Bill, Danielle, Krissy, Ike, Charles, Denny, and Elenor chatting.

And Via

It was an unusually warm and beautiful day!  We ended it with a fire and s'mores in the backyard.

Friday:  We went to Winter Park Village.  Here miss Via is giving me some serious attitude.....about gloves!

Kids playing in a big snow pile.

We decided to take the gondola up to the top of the mountain.

There was more snow up there and it snowed for a few minutes.  It was cold but Claire enjoyed seeing it up there.

Smores and then hot cocoa at the top.

We had an adult beverage while the kids drank their cocoa

Time to head back to the house.

Derek, Meg and Rafa arrived Friday afternoon.  They came over for dinner and to hang out for the evening.

The kids playing while poor Trey is still feeling terrible on the couch.

We enjoyed another trip to Winter Park.  We really love it here!

Boys Day!!

Snowshoeing in the morning and mountain biking in the afternoon.  My Colorado Boys! Denny and Ike joined Claredon and John for and awesome day outside.

Ike enjoyed snowshoeing but was a bit nervous about falling and the wind made it pretty chilly.  He asked that next time it please not be so windy.

There are biking trails very close to our house.  This was Ike and Denny's first time trying it out.  He did a few green and blue runs.  He is much to cautious for the black runs right now.  I love that he loves to get out and enjoy cautiously.

Girls Day!!

Via has been asking for a girls day for a long time and today her wish came true!  Denny, Ike, Claredon and John headed out early for a boys day.  Once the boys were gone it was time to paint nails and watch cartoons while they dried.

Then pretty hair

After hair we headed over to Grace's house to hang out for a bit. Then to Louisville for lunch at LuLu's BBQ.

After lunch it was time for the main event:  Ear Piercing!

Picking earrings

Neither of them wanted to go first so rock paper scissors was the solution.  Grace won and decided she would go second.

Prepping

I was sitting right next to her while Elizabeth, Grace, Trinity, and Nana Linda all watched on the other side.

And just like that she was done!! She didn't even flinch AND had no problem doing the second ear after the first one.  Elizabeth and I both had a fear that they would walk out with one ear pierced.

Next up: Grace!

We all watched and she also did amazing! Not a fuss or tear from either of them!

Our beautiful girls!

After they did so amazing we couldn't say no to ice cream when it was requested as the next stop.

The sugar really wound them up so we headed to the park for a bit, and then it was off to home.  It was such a fun and memorable day!  I loved every minute of it and so did Olivia.
