We surprised the kids with a day at Legoland Discovery Center. Ike has been asking to go to Legoland for months now. We are not ready for the theme park so this was the next best option. He doesn't know the difference and they both loved every minute of the 4 hours we were there.
We are about to enter all the lego fun.
They had a space room with a little rocket that "launched" every 5 minutes.
They had two rides. This one I had to pedal to make the chair go up. Via couldn't reach the petals yet and had high expectation that I kept both of us all the way up for the whole ride. It was a nice mini workout for me.
There was also a "build your own car" area that the kids spend a lot of time in. They built a car and then raced it on the tracks. We also went to three 4D lego movies. They were about 15 minutes long and we would get rained on, snowed on, sneezed on, and the wind would blow on us along with what was going on in the movie. Kids loved it!
And of course we wouldn't think of going to Mesa without a round or two of bocce ball.
Via is really into picking flowers everywhere she goes right now. Gram was happy to play along and even get a vase ready for her pretty flower collection. She was so proud of it!
Pretty hat and nails.
Ike looking handsome in his Fedora.
Our last full day was a bit cloudy so we spend the afternoon at the movies watching Beauty and the Beast.
The nightly smores after dinner and before bed.
And one last post smores and pre bedtime evening walk with Gram while Denny and I were off visiting Pat and Megan (Denny's friends from college).
Goodbye desert! Until next time.....
