First Weekend of Summer Vacation- Memorial Day Weekend

The kids wanted to walk around the Neighborhood and do a little trash pick up....so we did.

Ike and Via watered a friends flowers while they were out of town for the weekend.

Opening day for the neighborhood pool.  Kids had so much fun, and they really enjoyed having Derek, Meg, and Rafa along. We spent three hours there!

A neighbor, Amber Poppen, brought this inflated bull up to the pool.  The kids spent at least an hour climbing on and falling off.  Again, they loved it!

A new thing at the pool this year is a 15 minute safety break every 45 minutes.  The last two years there were zero safety breaks so it got quite annoying.

The Waller family was also in town.  They spent the day at a rubik's cube competition and then joined us in the evening for Erie concert in the park.  While waiting for the band to start Denny played a little baseball with the kids.

Next was some face painting.  Ike felt super cool with his choice!

Via had a dolphin and Evey Minecraft

So sweet to have Breean (missing Wiley), Brittani and my kiddos together.

Friends for YEARS!!

The crew listening to "That Eighties Band". Great music, great company, and great time!

Memorial Day:  We live close to a cemetery and the kids have become very interested in it, so today Denny took them to Olinger's Evergreen Cemetery in Broomfield where they placed some flags by veteran graves.

Last week of school: Wednesday and Thursday

Wednesday: Via's turn to start the morning out at the doctor office.  Time for shots before Kinder.  She didn't even flinch. She was so brave and tough!

Showing off the cool band aids that see picked out.

Then our daily trip to the dog park. Via likes to look for rolly pollys, fill water bowls, and throw the balls for dogs.  She was throwing a ball and managed to land her foot in a mud puddle.  We had to take a trip to the tractor supply store to the dog wash and clean them both up.

I have to spray Oli off every day after the dog park.  She loves to wrestle, run and always ends up so dirty.

In the afternoon we went to Ike's classroom for an Author celebration:  He read a story he had written to a group of parents and students. He did great!

At about 4pm the shots kicked Via's butt.  She started getting really sore and spiked a fever.  Poor girl was sound asleep by 6pm.

Thursday:  Thankfully Via woke up feeling so much better and ready for another beautiful day.

Ike is ready for his last day of first grade, his last day at Erie Elementary, his last day with the WONDERFUL Mrs. Beamer as his teacher, and his last day on bus "FUN".  All the kids LOVED their bus driver this year.  I have never met a bus driver that loved her bus kids as much as she does.  She gives them candy and treats all the time.

That is a wrap!  Their bus driver handed out little water guns and let them have a water fight on the way home.  Ike was so excited about this that he insisted on wearing his swim shirt all day.

To end this week we enjoyed a few hours at the Erie Elementary carnival.  It is such a fun way to wrap up the year.  Bounce houses, snow cones, games, and prizes.  Hello summer!  I am really looking forward to all this time I am going to get to spend with my two loves over the next few months.

Last week of School: Monday and Tuesday

Another school year is wrapping up and it is hard to believe.  Ike and Via had amazing teachers this year and they will be missed very much.  For Ike it is the end of his Erie Tiger days. For Via it is the end of Wee School Preschool.  Next year they will be going to the new K-8 school that is almost done being built.  Soaring Heights Eagles here we come!

Monday:  Ike had field day at Erie Elementary.  A lot of fun activities outside to start off their day. The weather was nice and warm for them.

Gloves will not keep Ike from getting some bubble gum.  He loves gum!

Today was Via's last day of Wee School.  I have been dropping a kiddo off at WeeSchool for three years now and it is sad to be done.  I am really sad that both my sidekicks will now be in school all day.  I am really going to miss this stage of our life!

Tuesday we started our morning at the Ortho.  Ike has spacers and braces in his future so we go every six months to keep an eye on when things need to start.  Hopefully we have a few more years.

WeeSchool end of the year picnic.  Via had a blast; she said it was second to our Disney cruise in terms of fun. She had been looking forward to this picnic for a few weeks.

Via's teacher Monday thru Thursday: Ms. Melissa

Friday Fun teacher: Ms. Karen

After a beautiful day outside we had to rush home from the park after school because a big rainstorm moved in.
