Moving to Erie

March 17th Grammie and Grandpa flew into town to help with the move in process.  March 18th Denny and I went to sign closing documents while Grammie watched the kids.  Then after signing the mountain of paperwork Denny and I went to a Garth Brooks concert to celebrate home ownership.  It was a wonderful night out and perfect way to ring in a new chapter.

March 19th is MOVING DAY

Grammie was A HUGE help that day and the days since!  We are all settled and unpacked and it a huge thank you to her and Grandpa!  Denny kept the kids busy and away from the house the first day which was also a big help.  When Denny brought them to the house that evening it was the first time in almost two months since that had seen there toys.  They were over the moon excited!

February 2015

The next couple of weeks consisted of house hunting and more house hunting.  I looked at 50 plus houses all over the Denver suburbs.  The housing market here was hotter than I expected.  We did lose the bid on one house in Parker.  I was OVER the house hunting!  Then on Feb. 14th we decided to go look at houses in Erie, CO which is north of downtown and I had focused most of my search south.

We looked at a couple houses in Erie and I fell in love with one and that was the END of house hunting!!!

Now that we had found our future home life could continue.  We lived in a two bedroom condo on the third floor.  I felt TERRIBLE for the woman that lived below us and anyone that shared a wall with us.  Kids are SOOOO loud!

Our first full month in Denver, February, was the snowiest February on record.  One thing I did not miss while living in Texas was snow.  Ike was MUCH more excited about all the snow than I was. Olivia warmed up to it after about a week.

Needing a break from the condo and being close enough to drive to see family we took full advantage and the kids and I headed to Grand Junction to see Nanna, Papa and the rest of the family.  Ike was also very excited to play with Sam and Ben.  It had been 18 months since our last visit to GJ.  I got to spend some time with my friend Jayme.  It was so great to be back in town!

February ends and we are that much closer to living in a house again......

January 2015

What a month!  Denny was offered a wonderful job opportunity in Denver, CO working for Jonah Energy at the end of December so things got crazy in January.  Denny had to fly back to Texas early from our Arizona Christmas vacation so he could give his two week notice at StatOil.  The kids and I then came back as scheduled on Jan. 4th.  We put our Katy, Texas house on the market the next day, Jan. 5th.  We had constant showings all week and by Saturday the 10th we had three offer and were under contract.  Denny flew to Denver so he could start is new job on the 11th.

Denny did come back the next weekend so he could run the Houston Marathon that he had been training for.  He love it and I will not be surprised if we take little family vacation to Houston in the future to watch him run it again.

The kids and I spent the next two weeks prepping for a move and getting in as much quality time with our friends as we could before we headed to Colorado.

On January 23rd Nanna and Papa came to the rescue to help with the kids and final days of prep before the movers came.

January 27th Nanna, Papa and the kids flew to Denver. I stayed one extra day while the movers loaded all of our things.  January 28th I flew to Denver and we were a family of four again in our new city.  We each came to Denver with one suitcase of clothes while all of our other things went into storage until we found a house to live in.  We were staying in a furnished condo in Englewood, CO which is south of downtown Denver where Denny works.  It had furniture but not a single toy.  The kids didn't really know what to do with themselves.  It wasn't long before Ike was asking go to back to his house in Katy, TX.
