Ike riding his bike...and crashing

Ike has been doing awesome riding his big boy bike.  We got a bit overly exited and decided he was ready to ride to old town Erie for some ice cream.  There are some declines that we were a bit nervous about but thought Denny could coach him through it.  He did great on the first decline but the last hill was a doozy and got the best of Ike.  Ike was braking like Denny was telling him to but the brakes were not slowing him down enough.  He eventually lost control and crashed.  Denny tried to grab the brake while biking beside him but couldn't grab it so jump off and was running faster than I have ever seen him run but just couldn't catch him. Olivia and I were driving beside them so I was able to jump out grab Ike and rush him home to tend to the wounds.

This is earlier in the day when they were just riding around by the house.

Off on their adventure.  They are coming to the hill in this picture.

Ike in the car.  He was crying pretty hard on the drive home and some of the things he said through his sobs I have to share.
"I can't go to sweets like this!"
"I need to go to the hospital; I need and ambulance!"
Looking at his leg, "Does it have jelly on it?!"
"I am not a very good biker."

His lip was a bit bloody too.

Once he was happily parked in front of some cartoons Olivia and I ran down to buy some ice cream.  Amazing what a little ice bomb and toons will cure.  Now we just hope our already very cautions and nervous little Ikey will jump back on his bike soon!
