Boys/ Girls Weekend

Denny and Ike spent a few nights camping at Colorado Campground near Woodland Park, CO.
Via and I had a quiet few days at home.  Everyone had a great weekend.

The boys went to the Pike Peak summit.

July 3rd & 4th

July 3rd was a very sad day around our house and street.  Denny, Ike and I were outside doing some measuring for the fence when suddenly there was an ambulance, fire truck and 3 police cars across the street at Matt and Erin's house.  After an hour or so when the paramedics were just standing around after bringing out the equipment, then family started showing up, and then the corner truck arrived we knew it was bad.  Erin had come home that morning and found Matt dead.  He had been dead since the night before.  He was only 35 years old and the nicest guy ever!  Thankfully the kids were off doing something else when they brought out his body.  I still think about it.  I can't imagine how horrible it was for Erin to come home and find him.

Matt and Erin's close friends Megan and Bryan who live a street down were with Erin so I took their kids and dog for the morning.  It is still hard to believe it all happened.

Denny, Ike and Tanner doing some fence work.

Maybel is only 3 months old.... she is almost as big as Oli.  She is going to be giant!

The snow cone truck was driving down the street.  A nice treat on a hot and sad day.

July 4th.  We spent the first part of the evening at Courtney and Ben's house.

Then we spent the rest of the evening in Kristin and Tim's driveway.  It is our norm when we are home for the 4th.

Via wanted her pic with the firework camera.

Via wanted a pic like this because she has a pic making this face last year...

Estes Park

We spent beautiful two days in Estes Park with our Friends Pat, Megan, Mason, Austin, and Liam.  The adults and kids had a great time.  We walked Bear Lake then to Nymph Lake and almost made it to Dream Lake before it started raining and we turned around and headed back to the car.

Then we drove to Sprague Lake and walked around it.

We stayed in this cute little cabin at Spruce Lake RV Park.

The kids spent many hours playing on the playground.  Pat and Megan's camper was parked right behind it and our cabin was to the right of where this pic is.

The RV park had mini golf

We all went on a 30 minute horseback ride.  Everyone enjoyed it.

A quick walk through of the Stanley Hotel

We drove up Trail Ridge Road.

It was cold and Ike was a bit afraid of the height.

Once we made it to the top of the road. Olivia, Pat, Megan, Denny and I hiked to the top.  The boys were not interested in another hike.  Via did her fair share of complaining, but she did make it.

There was a very chill marmot at the top.  He was clearly used to seeing a lot of people.

Late nights playing, lots of walking, and early mornings.  They needed a quick nap on the way down.

Supper with everyone

Both nights we were able to enjoy s'mores.

Two days of fun... now time to get up, pack up and head home.
