Hyattville, WY

Yesterday morning Gram the kids and I drove out to Medicine Lodge Archaeological Site.  We looked at the petroglyphs, watched some archaeologists dig, had a picnic and then we spent an hour walking Medicine Lodge Creek.  The water is COLD and walking on the rocks is slippery. We all had a wonderful morning.  When I was a kid we called this place was Taylor Ranch and I have many memories over the years of time spent here.  It is one of the many places that I am thankful I get to spend time at with my kids.

After about an hour of walking in the water and many almost falls I slipped on the rocks after this pic.  Thankfully I managed to throw my phone on a rock, but wow that cold water takes the air right out of your lungs.

Basin, WYO

Two weeks in Basin has been wonderful, as always.  The kids had a lot of cousin time, pool time, park time and much more!

We went to the airplane museum in Greybull.  Many of these planes were used during World War II then repurposed to use for fighting fires. They are all retired now.

One morning Gram the kids and I drove up to Shell Falls. On the way home we stopped at Shell Creek to walk down to the water and Shell Store for a treat.

The six cousins in 2021: Kade 8, Olivia 8, Jace 10, Ike 10, Elly 14 and Payton 18 and off to college.

We went to Greybull to check out the stores along Main Street.

Greybull pool:  Basin pool was closed on the weekends so we would go to the one in Greybull.  The kids loved there there was a shaved ice truck right outside so they would go get one after swimming for a bit and then get back in the pool when they were done.

The boys walked from the park along the river to the bridge where they could walk down to the water.

Kids got have one sleepover at Grammies house and one sleepover at Uncle Ryan's house.

When we were visiting Skye's house Via spent most of her time playing with the kitten.

A Vietnam solider who was shot down and killed in the 1960's remains where found this year. On this day they had been flown into Billings and then driven to Worland, WY where he was from. Each little town along the way lined the streets with people to celebrate him coming home to his family finally for a proper burial.  The procession was very long with police, fire truck, MANY motorcycles and some of the soldiers living family.  Here dad is while we wait.  With just some of his family that would not have been here if he hadn't made it home from Vietnam.
