Eye Heart Summer!

Ike loves water (pools, baths, and water shooting out of the ground).  Here he is waiting for water to come out of the hole.

Playing with Krissy

Ike liked being pushed around in this....

and this so much that in order to save our backs we...

got this!

Ike had a grand ole time cruising around the block in his cool new wheels.  He also liked throwing the ball so we could retrieve it for him (and I must say this kid already has a good arm!).  Look at that form.

This and That

Here are just a few pics of what is going on around here.  Ike still LOVES his binky, he also thinks that everyone else might love it as much as he does.

Last weekend we went and stayed the night in Gunnison with the Miller crew (we love you guys!)  Saturday evening we went to Crested Butte and walked around then enjoyed a wonderful meal at Slogar.

Ike really likes celery and carrots (which don't help us out much in the calorie department for the skinny little guy).

The other day I had the good idea of Ike walking with the wagon to help me get the mail.  It went pretty well there, but coming back was a bit more challenging.  He wanted to stop and pick up everything on the ground or throw the mail out of the wagon.  What is usually a 5 minute ordeal took closer 30 minutes this time.

Ike now has eight teeth that have come in.  He does pretty well with his twice a day brushings.

No means...

that Ike wants it more than ever! When Ike sees a remote control or cell phone in reach he goes for it and enjoys every second he gets to play with it.

On the go

Little Ball

I am pretty sure Ike just picked up food to eat - but who knows!  Everything goes in his mouth!

Big Ball

Give Ike a ball, big or small, and he will entertain himself!

July 4th Weekend 2011

We had an amazing weekend.  Derek, Meg, and Aunt Lisa were all in town to share some wonderful times barbecuing, rafting, and just hanging out.

Saturday we went rafting down the Colorado river.  The water is high and chilly, but it was still a mellow float trip.  My favorite part was when we were just minutes away from getting the boat to shore and we caught an under current that sucked Derek right out of the boat and into the water.  At first, of course, we made sure he was safe and back in the boat, but I sure did have a few laughs at his expense.  Sorry Derek! :-)

Derek dripping wet when we got to shore.

Sunday night we BBQ ed at our house, played some croquet, and watched Fruita fireworks.

Ike watching the fireworks.  He never fussed or cried.  He would just stare at them and then look at all of us to see what we thought, so we would all clap and he would do the same.  So cute!

Monday was another day of rafting, but this time we went to Glenwood Springs to go down the roaring fork.  It was high, fast, and very cold (48 degrees)!  Ike and Nana roamed around town and brought us lunch when we were all done (Thanks a million Julie!).

Bob and I in the front.  Lisa is on the other side of me.
Derek and Vinje in the middle with Denny beside Vin, and Dean in the back calling the shots.

Here we are approaching some good rapids.
 Getting closer...
 And now everyone is soaked
I was in the middle and didn't have a foot hold, so I ended up on the bottom of the boat a few times.
Great trip!
