Playing

Ike spends a lot of time drawing on his white board and Olivia likes to do many of the things that her big brother does.  It doesn't take long though before the marker just ends up in her mouth.  Luckily she can't take the lids off yet; unluckily Ike rarely remembers to put the lids back on.

Olivia is now pulling herself up to a stand on everything and starting to walk along them.  She is even brave enough to let go and stand "with no hands!" for a few seconds.  It is a very hard picture to get!  The best one I have is on her way down (with a smile of course).

Zoo Play Date

We spent the morning at the zoo yesterday with our neighbor Amanda and her little ones Lily and Matt.  It may have been the last day of spring but it felt every bit of mid summer.  We still managed to really enjoy ourselves and see the favorite animals.  Ike just loves the elephants and he asks to go see them all the time so he was pretty happy to see them up close getting their bath yesterday.  I think he would have stood there for hours if I let him.  We also fed the giraffes.  I though Ike would get "scares" and run the other way but he surprised me and did pretty well.

Olivia was a trooper.  She doesn't really notice the animals and was happy to sit in the stroller as long as I kept feeding her.

Play Time!

The kids and I spend A LOT of time together. We play downstairs, upstairs, backyard, front yard, splash pad, and the park. We also take several trips a week to the grocery store.  Two kids can be very distracting and I rarely manage to get everything I need the first time around. I can't imagine how many hours we have logged doing these things.   Thankfully we many have amazing neighbors, all with young children, that we see often.  On the weekends when Daddy is home we do all the cool stuff.  Today is one of those days we are just hanging around the house.  With Olivia crawling and pulling up on everything it is just so much easier and safer to be at home.

Started crawling up the stairs today

A morning would not be complete if we didn't watch Ike play basketball

Ike is always climbing up the slide so Livy wants to do it too

A quick jump before nap time

Now they are both down for nap and I have some time to clean up and regain my sanity before the second act.  I just love these two darlings of mine, but I also love nap time!!

Seguin, Texas

We just spent a wonderful weekend with my cousin Dacota and her husband Jay and daughter Adelyn at their home in Seguin, TX.  It is a quick two hour drive from our house and we are already excited to go back.  The kids had a wonderful time playing with Adelyn and we enjoyed some adult time.

Trucks

We don't have a lot of girly toys around here but Olivia doesn't seem to mind.  Ike loves to have her on the floor playing with him as long as she doesn't try to take the toy that he is playing with.

Swimming

After two weeks of swimming lessons I was worried that Ike would never get in the water again.  He had lessons Monday-Friday for two weeks and cry/screamed through every minute of it.  His crying and swallowing pool water also resulted in throwing up in the pool a few times (UHG!).  I had planned on doing them all summer but gave in and took him out.

Now that our neighborhood pool is open Ike is happy to hang out in the baby pool.  He want nothing to do with the back float or putting his head underwater.

Olivia loves to splash and isn't as worried about keeping her face dry.
