Sleeping Beauties!

Starting at about 20 months Ike turned into the best sleeper ever!  Two hour naps.  Go to bed at 8pm and we would not hear from him again until 7 or 8 a.m.  Ooohhh how we miss that!  Now without the binky it is a WHOLE new routine.   Now he hollers for Denny 2 to 5 times a night.  Denny has to walk into his room and say "Ike go to sleep" and walk out.  Ike is very picky about this and will not listen unless Denny opens the door to say it.  He naps about one hour and graces us with his crankiness due to less sleep. Yesterday after his one hour nap he fell asleep on my lap and when Livy woke up I went to get her and he stayed crashed out in the chair for another 30 minutes.  Good thing he is so stinkin' adorable!

And here is our second horrible yet adorable sleeper.  Denny and I have had to divide and conquer at this point.  I deal with Livy at night (the obvious choice since I am the milk supply) and Denny gets to visit Ike's room over and over again.  This is Livy sleeping on her new "breathable mattress".  I love it and hope that she learns to do the same.

Cousins in San Antonio

I drove to San Antonio last Sunday to spend a few hours with some Julson family and had a wonderful visit.  Next time I will take Denny and the kids along.

My cousin Todd and his kids Elizabeth, Emily, and Christopher.  Me.  Uncle Ross and my cousin Jackson with his wife RoseAnn and daughter Brooklyn.

Todd's wife Lisa is in this one.

I also saw my cousin Dakota and her husband Jay briefly before I had to leave.

Brother and Sister

These two are just precious!!!

Happy Girl!!

Livy is such a happy baby!  She is a horrible sleeper and still manages to be so happy.

Olivia in her own bed

Olivia is six months old now so I feel like I can get her to start sleeping on her own.  The first four months she slept in a swing, then moved to our bed, and now is in the pac n play in our room.  I would like to put her in the crib, but Ike loves it in there so much I haven't made the transition yet.  Livy is doing pretty well in her bed but she likes to sleep like this......

and it freaks me out!  I try to get her to sleep on her back she just won't stay there.  Most of the time she has her head turned to one side, but she also likes to have her face planted straight down into the sheets.

Binky Update

That was/is rough!  Ike is finally starting to come to terms with the loss of his binky and I am starting to recover from the trauma of taking it away.  Lucky for us (maybe not so lucky for nanna) she was here to help us with the transition.  While nanna was here both the kids were quite sick, binky was gone and Olivia was getting used to sleeping in her own bed.  There was a lot of crying but we all survived.  Thank you for all you help, Nanna!!

I also decided that Olivia didn't really need the binky either so I took it away at the same time as I took Ike's.  She didn't really care and I am so happy to be in a binky free house!!
