July 3rd & 4th

July 3rd was a very sad day around our house and street.  Denny, Ike and I were outside doing some measuring for the fence when suddenly there was an ambulance, fire truck and 3 police cars across the street at Matt and Erin's house.  After an hour or so when the paramedics were just standing around after bringing out the equipment, then family started showing up, and then the corner truck arrived we knew it was bad.  Erin had come home that morning and found Matt dead.  He had been dead since the night before.  He was only 35 years old and the nicest guy ever!  Thankfully the kids were off doing something else when they brought out his body.  I still think about it.  I can't imagine how horrible it was for Erin to come home and find him.

Matt and Erin's close friends Megan and Bryan who live a street down were with Erin so I took their kids and dog for the morning.  It is still hard to believe it all happened.

Denny, Ike and Tanner doing some fence work.

Maybel is only 3 months old.... she is almost as big as Oli.  She is going to be giant!

The snow cone truck was driving down the street.  A nice treat on a hot and sad day.

July 4th.  We spent the first part of the evening at Courtney and Ben's house.

Then we spent the rest of the evening in Kristin and Tim's driveway.  It is our norm when we are home for the 4th.

Via wanted her pic with the firework camera.

Via wanted a pic like this because she has a pic making this face last year...
